Has electronic research superseded your wonderful print resources? Do the techno-geeks tell you to burn your encyclopedias? Be pro-active, transform your nonfiction collection into a browsing collection. Show your teachers how books can generate ideas for project based learning. Come and listen to a panel including Lawrence Gillick from Baraboo High School, Kathy Davis from Ripon, Peg Billings from Tomahawk, and Samantha Garvey from Deerfield Community School District. We may have Dewey spinning in his grave, but our students and staff are joyfully rediscovering the media center.

Peg Billing

Library Media / Technology Specialist
My role as the School District of Tomahawk is that of Library Media / Technology Specialist involves many aspects of the library world from print to digital; from teaching to collaborating and to information seeker and information guide. Best of all is working with students and observing their growth and desire to be a learner. The other aspect is being able to explore and play with new technology and the pleasure of reading books!
