Learning Visually

Integrating data visualization and infographics into the day to day classroom routine allows students to not only engage with information at a more complex level but also push their skill set to create relevant visuals to accompany their learning. After 15 years in the classroom, it is clear that inclusion of these methods into the learning environment develop more analytical consumers of information. And with the advent of powerful tools on the web, a venue for creation of new visualizations that stretch the learner from just consumer to also producer of information.

Participants will investigate a variety of classroom tested activities, browse a number of tools that are used to make data visualizations, and create their own original visualization. The end goal is for the participants to see proven examples with a pathway towards inclusion within their own teaching environments.
